Sex-Separate Rearing

The main technological principles for rearing males and females are similar; however, their body weight profiles and feeding programs differ.
Although roosters represent a small percentage of the total flock, they contribute to 50% of the reproductive results. Therefore, achieving the target live weight is important for both hens and roosters.
In some regions, it is traditional to raise hens and roosters together at an early age.
However, the growth and development of birds vary depending on their sex, due to different competitive abilities for feed in a mixed flock. While this practice may be successful, it does not allow for separate control of uniformity in males and females, and overall, it hinders the achievement of the maximum potential in chick production.
